I am happy to share that we at Basta Foundation launched ‘wheels of future ‘ on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day celebration in NCR.
Van turned into a mobile classroom for
economically disadvantaged students-a mobile school that travels to slums and
remote areas is driven by female drivers, which empowers women financially.
Basta Foundation mobile school provide access to e-learning to disadvantaged students at their doorstep! So that India can achieve 100% literacy and fight against poverty.
Mobile Classrooms” features four learning stations, a teacher’s station (for younger children), a mini library, encyclopedias, an assortment of learning tools, school supplies, noise cancelling headphones, educational CD’s, DVD’s., laptops, two flat screen televisions.!
Most school buses arrive to take
students to class, but this bus brings the class to the students.
The wheels of future project
is a refurbished van transformed into
a mobile school house, complete with a library and computerized learning via a WiFi.
Additional services will include guidance councelling and social services to address
issues as substance abuse, child labour and Violence prevention, Which compromised learning oppurtunities.
These mobile schools can move
around the villages and the slum areas, Providing basic education leading to
higher education, specially
for neighbourhoods where the majority
of residence are below poverty line and frequently have limited access
to quality education.
Many are single parents with limited
options for child care, So we make sure that school reaches to them.
I feel as if this bus is going to change so much. Being able to walk out of my house and see a bus that’s full of education—that is also a hope on wheels.”
