As early as 2000, the WHO had decided to use the Primary Healthcare System to achieve “Health for All.” One of the most significant benefits of the Primary Healthcare System is that it makes medical treatment widely accessible. An estimated 26 million new lives enter the world each year in India. Children make up 13% of the overall population in the nation, as per the 2011 Census. BASTA focuses on the Continuum of Care to improve child survival, which emphasizes care at critical ages. BASTA educates the public on the importance of using the many child healthcare resources accessible to them, including those in their own homes, in their local communities, and at primary, secondary, and tertiary care facilities.
