The fast economic growth of India has attempted to incorporate the rural population, which is concentrated in areas where rain-fed agriculture is the principal source of income. According to 2019 statistics, 65.53% of India’s population resides in rural regions. Farming, dairy, and poultry are traditional livelihood prospects in rural India, which have transformed as India moves forward with a modernized attitude of creating skills such as stitching, knitting, computer, technical insight, and other sustainable livelihood chances. Nevertheless, on the other hand, low literacy and skills conspire to put individuals in poverty by preventing them from exercising their fundamental rights or engaging in extracurricular activities that might earn them money or help them build assets. BASTA educates and provides information and skill development workshops in rural regions for both men and women, assisting them in improving their living situations.
