When financial conditions are so dire that the choice is between having a meal or buying sanitary pads, anyone would choose the former. With this in mind, we decided to launch the project ‘Kamakhya,’ which will change many lives!

I am thrilled to announce that Basta Foundation has partnered with Veersa Technologies to manufacture eco-friendly sanitary pads and distribute them for free in urban slums and remote villages.

In many remote areas, women use dirty clothes, newspapers, or leaves as makeshift sanitary products, which can lead to serious infections and diseases. During my campaigns in slums and rural areas over the past few years, I noticed that menstrual hygiene was one of the biggest challenges these women faced. Since then, I’ve been determined to make a change.

Now, with the manufacturing of these pads, we’re not only providing safe, hygienic options for these women but also creating employment opportunities.

Additionally, we distribute these pads in slums and women’s prisons. Women have shared with us how life-changing these pads are, as many have never used one before. Together, we produce 9,000 pads every month. to extend a helping hand to those in need.
